Teacher Training

Maureen Bosker of Yoga in the Woods and Kathy McNames of Yoga Vermont will be leading the teacher training program.

Some of you may be interested in receiving your 200 hour RYT certification and some of you may just want to try some teacher training classes to add a little more depth to your practice. Yoga in the Woods meets the requirements of the National Registered Yoga Teacher Association for your 200 hour certification. We are committed to the individual needs of the student. Many of you are currently teachers and many of you are committed students. This process of practicing yoga through the journey of the breath and awakening to the happiness of pure being is an experience of true self-awakening. This experience will give you the tools to assist you in the path of leading others to their true self.

You will learn to teach basic Hatha Yoga or to teach a set of linking postures well known as Vinyasa Yoga. You will hae the opportunity to learn the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga and a brief introduction to the 2nd Series. We will give a historical perspective on Yoga and will study many texts that will assist you on your Journey of Spiritual exploration. We will be offering many retreats that you may like to participate in. Each section of the teacher training will be individualized to meet your needs. Students are encouraged to learn of the Ancient Yoga Text. The Yoga sutras will be studied in depth. You will be introduced to the language of Sanscrit and learn some ancient chants. Meditation and Silence will be utilized. You will learn a wonderful number of assists to allow the practice to unfold in your students.

Weekend of Teacher Training Cost 225.00 includes Mathew Darling on Sunday from 2-5:30. You may attend any session for $25.00 without meals and lodging.

November 14-16th weekend/all inclusive/meals/lodging/teacher training. Friday evening 6-9pm Adjusting/Asana/Primary Series Sat 9-12:30 Yoga Basics Sat 1:30-3:30 THAI Massage..Sat evening 7-8 Chanting Sunday 2-5:30 Ashtanga with Mathew Darling/certified by Sri Pattabhi Jois to teach the Primary Series. Teacher training Sundays will be November 2nd from 2-5:30 Cost is 35.00 per session. If you are a registered yoga teacher through Yoga in the Woods cost 15.00. All Welcome. No sessions in Dec. We will begin again in Jan 2009. Dates to be posted soon.
